‭‭Good afternoon, and God Bless everyone!

Proverbs‬ ‭23:1-2‬ ‭AMP

1 When you sit down to dine with a ruler, Consider carefully what is [set] before you; 2For you will put a knife to your throat If you are a man of great appetite.

Verses one and two stood out for me because we see when our motives and our desires are for immediate satisfaction, whether that’s food, money, or attention it leads us to our own demise from our own hands. While we might not dine with a ruler, we do enter into business meetings or career decisions, that we must bring to God first. What looks good or sounds good isn’t always good, so let us not be driven by the immediate satisfaction of what we see or hear, which lead me to 2 Corinthians 4:18.

2 Corinthians 4:18 (KJV)

18 While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal.

Day 23 from the 40 Days of Hope, tied in completely with not being distracted by the things that are temporary and what we see. Lord, I pray that I don’t seek the attention or the immediate satisfaction of what looks good, but help me to be lead by Your Spirit and Your will for my life. In Jesus Name, AMEN!
