4 If you seek [Wisdom] as for silver and search for skillful and godly Wisdom as for hidden treasures, 5 Then you will understand the reverent and worshipful fear of the Lord and find the knowledge of [our omniscient] God.
â€â€Proverbs‬ â€2:4-5‬ â€AMPC‬‬
Good afternoon everyone!!! The scripture that resonated with me was Proverbs 4-5. We often quote, James 1:5 that if we lack wisdom, all we have to do is ask and it will be given to us. But the work doesn't end there. Proverbs 4 says, we have to seek it with the same fervor and energy we seek the things that bring us happiness; the scripture uses silver and hidden treasures as an example. In verse 5 it says, then we will understand the fear of the Lord, and find the knowledge of God. It’s just like when we were in school, you learned the lesson in school, but then the homework made us go and study it further, seek further knowledge, and apply it, it is only then that we truly got the understanding of that lesson. So we have to go beyond just asking for wisdom, but truly seeking and applying the wisdom. And just like when miners find silver and hidden treasures there is a drive and desire to keep digging and to keep finding more, that is the same way we have to keep digging, keep reading, keep studying, and seeking the wisdom of God. God bless!
Hi Tahera, I like your analogy of studying the word of God and your studies in school. I can remember being in school and spending countless hours researching this article or that author. When studying the word and seeking God, we have to be intentional and always seek more of Him and not simply do the bare minimum just to say we did it. We sought an A in school and that was cool for a degree. Seeking the wisdom of God, reading and studying, digging, gives a deeper connection to Him and all His righteousness. Thanks for sharing. God bless you.
