The Month Of Cheshvan (New Beginnings)

Cheshvan is the eight month on the Biblical calendar and the second month on the Jewish Civil calendar. The name Cheshvan was adopted after the Jews were exiled to Babylon. The original Hebrew name for this month was Bul and signified the month of rain and the beginning of the rainy season.

A significant event in the Bible that occurred in the month of Cheshvan is the story of Noah's ark and the flood that God sent to destroy the earth because of the sickness of the people.

"In the six hundredth year of Noah's life, in the second month, the seventeenth day of the month, the same day were all the fountains of the great deep broken up, and the windows of heaven were opened." (Genesis 7:11)

The rain fell on the earth for forty days and forty nights and on the 27th day of Cheshvan God told Noah it was safe to leave the ark. Noah and the other seven members of his family that was also in the ark was now about to embark on something new. The first thing that Noah did after leaving the ark was to build an altar and offer an offering of thanksgiving (first fruits) unto the Lord for bringing him and his family out of the flood safely.

"Honour the Lord with thy substance, and with the firstfruits of all thine increase

So shall thy barns be filled with plenty, and thy presses shall burst out with new wine." (Proverbs 3:9-10)

Declare this over yourself and your family right now ...

"When the enemy comes in like a flood,The Spirit of the Lord will lift up a standard against him." (Numbers 59:19)

Even as this month represents "New Beginnings" its also a month significant for flooding because it is also consider "rainy season" but remember God is always with you. Beloved, no matter the storm or floods that tries to overwhelm your life remember Jesus is our "Ark of Safety" He is your refuge and your Hiding place find safety in HIM.

I speak into this NEW season of your life and Declare that this is truly a month of Divine Flooding for you in Jesus name. (Repeat)

• A Flooding of Great Relationships and Divine Connections

• A Flooding of Great Favor and Grace

• A Flooding of Great Strategies and Victories

During my morning devotional the Apostle Paul prayed for the church of Philippi. I pray this same prayer over you today according to Philippians 1:9-11.

"I pray that you will abound in more love, knowledge and all discernment. May you approve all things in excellence with a sincere heart and without offense. May you be filled with the fruit of Righteousness which come only by Christ Jesus. May the Spirit of the Lord lift up a standard over every flood or storm that tries to overwhelming you and prohibit you from experience the fullness of this NEW BEGINNINGS may you enter into YOU NEW with BOLD CONFIDENCE that HE WHO HAS BEGUN A GOOD WORK WITH COMPLETE IT for you in Jesus name. Amen!
