Proverbs 16 has a few familiar scriptures. Overall the proverbs must not only be read but we must mediate because they are so rich. Proverbs 16:9 “A man's mind plans his way, but the Lord directs his steps and makes them sure. [Jer. 10:23.]”
Proverbs 16:9 AMPC
I have heard people say “ We plan and God laughs”. This scripture is actively causing me to review everything that I am involved with. Every organization and my role in them because they take time. They require time outside of the required meetings. There have been times, I have volunteered for things and have been kicked off. Here today and gone tomorrow without cause.
God knows I probably would not have resigned but it was not where God was directing me so He used them to throw me out. Of course, I look back and am glad because I didn’t need to be there.
“Roll your works upon the Lord [commit and trust them wholly to Him; He will cause your thoughts to become agreeable to His will, and] so shall your plans be established and succeed.”
Had I started with God, it would have saved me some discomfort.
I cannot continue to spread myself so thin, God cannot get the glory. Even in this virtual world now, I find that I can be more places because it doesn’t cost or there’s no need to travel.
I will be “rolling” some things off my plate before I get kicked off. I want to be successful in His will for my life. I don’t want to keep God laughing, save that for the enemy.
