Lean Into God 2021

Praise the Lord, brothers and sisters in Christ.

As I read Proverbs 3, one of the verses that stuck out for me was 5-7.

5 Trust in the Lord with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding. 6 Seek his will in all you do, and he will show you which path to take.

7 Don’t be impressed with your own wisdom.

In this year, in this season, I am ever more intentional to seek God in my thinking, my movements, and my speech. I am Leaning Into God. For many years of my life, I operated from a space of "I got it" and "I'll take care of it". Even if "it" was draining me. Through different experiences in life, I developed the attitude that if I don't take care of "it", who will. Crazy, right? When I think back, I didn't believe that I was not trusting in God or believing in His power and love for me. I convinced myself that he made me to be "strong". So, I depended on my own understanding. I was impressed with my own wisdom and abilities based on what I had attained through many, many years of schooling and through life experiences. It wasn't until 5-6 years ago, when things began to become overwhelming and I almost lost much, that I intentionally began to include God in ALL decisions. I used to go to the Father for "big" decisions, but probably made many "little" decisions on my own and sought Him for a few. In this season, I will continue to seek God because today I now know that the place I operated from before was a place of fear, pride, and control for my life. Those places were birthed from pain and trauma. Now, being free in the Lord, in His love, in His reconciliation, I am free to trust Him with all my heart and seek Him in every decision. I believe the good word that He spoke over my life as I am His workmanship and belong to Him. Just as Proverbs 16:3 says, I will commit my actions to the Lord and my plans will succeed. I am Leaning Into God and HIs wisdom.
