I reflected and thought about King Solomon and his experience with women as he married over 700 of us. The women were from many backgrounds that God even warned him about because they brought idols into his life. It is also clear that he observed them and made the time to assess the different types of women there are. Because throughout the book he refers to ”wisdom” as ”she” and “her”. I think that as I meditate it is important to know who is speaking and why God used him in this manner.
This chapter was rich for me today,
Proverbs 6:27-28 seems to sum up what happens when we don’t take heed to God’s instruction. I will get burned. If we flirt with with sun, there are consequences and they should be expected. Can we handle fire secretly? No, fire will be seen even if it is only for a moment.
Proverbs 6:10-11 reminded me of what my grandfather told me. “The bed will take your strength.” He used this when we were not feeling well in our bodies. He said it was important to move your body so sickness could not settle.
But now I see from this scripture that it is a mindset and a behavior that will cause the enemy to take advantage or steal from us. And when you wake up its too late. God calls us to be alert and not sleeping with your eyes wide open.
Yess!
