I’m leaning on the everlasting arms today!
Today I will meditate on verse 16 - “Why does a fool have money in his hand with no intention of buying wisdom?”
Proverbs 17:16 HCSB. I like the way this version says it. But this version explains it:
“Of what use is money in the hand of a [self-confident] fool to buy skillful and godly Wisdom–when he has no understanding or heart for it?”
Proverbs 17:16 AMPC.
Sometimes I try to figure out the actions of others because what they are doing makes no sense. Mainly my children at times because I think they know better. The reality is that they don’t. They are smart, educated and talented but sometimes will do things the hard way and still will be in need after it’s all done.
I’ve watched my husband ignore reading instructions when having to assemble something just to realize he missed something. He had the skill and the tools but not all the instructions.
My self-confidence can cause me to miss what God wants to do because I think I already know. Time is too precious. Understanding will save time, money/resources and frustration.
