Great Morning Beloved!!
What a mighty God we serve! Today MERCY was on the heart of God. May we also remember that it is because of God's MERCY that we are not consumed.
Mercy - Dictionary definition: Compassionate treatment of or attitude towards an offender, adversary, etc., who is in one's power or care; clemency; pity.
The definition and meaning of the word Mercy according to the Bible are:
The clemency of God towards believing Christians in providing and offering them a measure of time during which they can survey their life and recognize, through God's Grace, what they need to do in order to change, conform to Jesus and work out their Salvation by Christ.
In other words, the Mercy of God is the time that the Lord gives us to realize what sin we have, repent of it and change.
In the Old Testament we read:
Deuteronomy 7:9 (NKJV) - "Therefore know that the LORD your God, He is God, the faithful God who keeps covenant and mercy for a thousand generations with those who love Him and keep His commandments."
In the New Testament we read:
Matthew 9:13 (NKJV) - "But go and learn what this means: 'I desire mercy and not sacrifice.' For I did not come to call the righteous, but sinners, to repentance."
Luke 1:50 (NKJV) - "And His mercy is on those who fear Him from generation to generation."
